• Private, liberal arts college founded in 1853

• The One-Course-At-A-Time academic calendar, begun in 1978, enables students to take a single course for 3½ weeks, with 9 terms a year. Students choose from approximately 60 courses each term; classes are capped at 25, with an average class size of 16.
• More than 95% of Cornell graduates finish in four years or less; two-thirds earn a double major or a major and a minor.
• Over two-thirds of Cornell graduates go on to graduate or professional school.
